Quick tip; Lamination Vs Encapsulation…

Lamination and encapsulation can somewhat become confused to many. Commonly many mix up lamination and encapsulation. Both do a very similar thing through applying a protective layer on various different materials and can be used to add different effects.

Encapsulation provides full coverage and a bonded transparent border around the outside to stop moisture entering the print which is the primarily focus. Click here for more information on Encapsulation.

Lamination usually provides a thin layer without a visible border. This method is commonly used to enhance quality providing a finish. You can get both one-layer and two-layer lamination, depending on the application. Click here for more information on Lamination.
